Trade License Fee in Bangladesh 2021 - Trade license process for business 2021
According to the law of Bangladesh, if you want to do business legally, you need to have a trade license. It is mandatory to have a trade license to conduct any business legally. And for this, you have to submit some necessary documents and perform some formalities.
This license is usually issued by the Union Parishad, Municipality, Upazila, or District Council outside the City Corporation and Metropolitan area. This trade license is not used for any purpose other than business.
Dhaka City Corporation (North and South) has divided the city corporation into several zones to serve its citizens. Of these, North City Corporation and South City Corporation have a total of ten regions. You need to collect your trade license from the office of the region to which your organization belongs.
There are two types of City Corporation forms for trade licenses. You need to collect forms based on the type of business you are doing or want to do. You have to collect the original trade license book by filling the form and submitting the required documents and pictures. Your organization may be investigated by the City Corporation. For this purpose, the designated officers of the Trade License Branch of the City Corporation may visit your organization. Licenses are issued based on their reports by paying a certain amount of license fee.
If the place of business is your own, you have to submit the updated tax receipt of the city corporation and if it is rented, you have to submit the lease agreement or receipt along with the application form. Apart from this, along with the application form, three copies of the passport size photograph and affidavit should be submitted in the prescribed non-judicial stamp where applicable.
A Memorandum of Articles and Certificate of Incorporation should be given if the organization or company is limited. The no-objection letter of the owner of the proposed establishment, factory, or company along with the location or design of the installation must also be submitted. In addition to these, different documents have to be submitted for different types of organizations. For example, in the case of industrial establishments, along with all the above documents, an environmental no-objection letter, a map indicating the location of the establishment, and a fire preparation certificate should be given.
Approval of the Director-General of the Department of Health in the case of clinics or private hospitals, permission of the Deputy Commissioner in the case of printing presses and residential hotels, licenses issued by the Bureau of Human Resource Exports for Recruiting Agencies, licenses for arms and ammunition, Exemption from the Department or the Department of Fire Service and Environment must be submitted with the application.
License renewal is a regular process. A license is valid for one year and must be applied for within three months of its expiration. For this, you have to contact the regional office in charge of the previous trade license. The Regional Tax Officer in charge will issue the renewed license. The license renewal fee is equal to the new license fee. This fee has to be deposited in the bank mentioned in the form as before.
License fees may vary depending on the type of business. This fee has to be submitted through receipts to the concerned office. License fees can range from a minimum of Rs 200 to a maximum of Rs 26,000. It can take three to seven days to get a license.
Providing false or incomplete information may result in revocation of the license if the terms and conditions of the license and the rules and regulations of the City Corporation are not complied with. In addition, legal action may be taken against the licensee. However, before taking any action, the recipient is given an opportunity to show cause.
