Metrorail project is one of the ongoing mega projects of the present government. Metrorail will run with 1,600 passengers every four minutes and about 60,000 passengers per hour. A total of 28 pairs of metro rails will run in the capital. This metro train will run from Uttara along the middle of the road to Motijheel via Mirpur-Farmgate. It will take less than 40 minutes.


Metrorail on Agargaon-Uttara route will run on December 16

The first section of Metrorail will be launched from Diabari to Agargaon on December 16 this year on the occasion of Great Victory Day, said Planning Minister MA Mannan. He said the total length of the section from Agargaon to Uttara in the capital is 11.63 km. There are 9 stations on this route. 11.4 km viaduct visible. Metrorail will run on this route on the day of great victory this year.


The first coach of Metrorail is scheduled to arrive in the country from Japan on April 23.

So far, the progress of work from Uttara to Agargaon has been more than 81 percent. The overall progress of the Motijheel part from Uttara is about 59 percent and the progress of the Motijheel part from Agargaon is more than 54 percent.


A total of 343 people have been affected by the Corona project so far as the construction work is gaining momentum as six foreign experts of Metrorail have been affected by the Corona.


Diploma Physicians and Sub-Assistant Community Medical Officers / Medical Assistants are providing medical services to the workers in the Metrorail project.
